JAKARTA. Simpan Asset Management, a subsidiary of Simpan Group, successfully hosted the Simpan Open 2024, a padel tournament coupled with a block party. Held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Padel Pro Kemang, South Jakarta, the event was primarily attended by Jakarta's padel community and Simpan's clients.

The company's decision to organize a padel tournament stems from its desire to align with current trends and foster a deeper connection with its target audience.

Padel combines elements of tennis and squash, played with a racket and ball on a smaller, enclosed court. The sport has gained significant popularity and attracts a diverse demographic.

"Through Simpan Open, we want to emphasize that financial health and physical well-being are interconnected. This is why we chose the event's theme: when financial well-being meets physical well-being. We want Indonesians to realize that by maintaining their physical health, they can live longer to enjoy the fruits of their investments," said Nicholas Hilman, Co-Founder of Simpan.

Nicholas added that padel is rarely played individually. Partnerships are essential to winning a padel match. Padel partners complement each other's strengths on the court.

"Just like padel, we want to be your partner in achieving your financial goals. We will help you grow your money and wealth through mutual funds. So, those who lack the time and energy to manage their investment portfolios can focus on enjoying life," Nicholas explained.

Most participants in the Simpan Open padel tournament were from Jakarta's padel community. A total of 60 people participated, forming 30 pairs.

The tournament was divided into two categories: Mens Intermediate and Mixed Beginner. In the inaugural Simpan Open, Diego Goentoro and Bryan Husin emerged as champions in the Mens Intermediate category. Patrick Tjandra and Arthur Irawan finished as runners-up, while Andre Aristio and Irwan Hadi Prasetiyo secured third place. Meanwhile, Armansyah Adhityo Pramono and Reinata Sidik won the Mixed Beginner category. Felicia Fanny and Richard Permadi came in second, followed by Michael Citra and Anggie Saputra in third.
